Chair: Open Help plan and work on the landscaping in the front of Bridgewater. This is a great community opportunity for parents and students alike.
Chair: Karina V Create a friendly and helpful welcome for those who are new to Bridgewater! New families and students are partnered with returning ones who are willing to share their knowledge of life at BMS and our local communities. From where to get haircuts and doctor recommendations, to navigating life on campus, helps ease transitioning to a new environment, be it middle school or the neighborhood.
Chair: OPEN Coordinate our largest fundraiser of the year: Hassle Free! Also called an “opt out fundraiser,” this type of fundraiser does not require participants to sell anything, run, walk, or otherwise commit to a gimmick to earn money. Students and staff are incentivized to ask friends, family, and community members for donations in support of Bridgewater PTSO and our plans to give back to the school.
Chair: Tammy C & Shaina R From food, clothing, and toy drives, to clean up days, to volunteering at food banks and beyond, this committee leads and supports the BMS Bravo Club in its needs. Help organize students and volunteers giving back to the community throughout the year.
Chair: David S. Create fun and festive Staff Appreciation Campaigns during the year. We want BMS staff to know they are appreciated all year long! Planning includes Stock the Lounge, annual Staff Appreciation Week, as well as holiday event/meal planning and more!
Chair: Sam M. Solicits sponsorships, donations, and in-kind donations from community partners, local businesses, and corporations. Send information packets, make cold calls, or go in person to build relationships, ultimately supporting initiatives at BMS.
Chair: Melissa H. Decorate BMS and keep it feeling fresh and festive! Work with other committees to help plan decorations for their events throughout the year. Melissa also heads up our on-campus PTSO storage closet, ensuring committees have what they need from storage for events.
Grade Level Committees
6th Grade Chair: Justyna T. & Holly C. (Co-Chair) 7th Grade Chair: Xiomara D. 8th Grade Chair: Danielle T. Plan your grade level dance/event and share the details on the appropriate grade level Facebook page. Be the extra “eyes” on your grade level page to ensure conversations remain informative and appropriate. 8th Grade Committee also plans the 8th Grade Awards Ceremony in May and Walk-out on the last day of school.
BMS School Store
Kimberly H. is this year's Coordinator, responsible for volunteers running the Spirit Store. She maintains inventory for in-person and online stores. The Spirit Store opens in-person on a varying schedule before school, during lunches, and at select school events throughout the year. Volunteers rotate shifts when the store is open to help with in-person sales.
Chair: Baz B. Co-Chair: Rhapsodii L. Organize a fun and educational evening celebrating and exploring the diverse cultures and traditions of Bridgewater families and from around the world! In partnership with campus clubs, staff, Bridgewater families, and community partners, this night includes a DJ and food, dancing, and trivia from around the globe.
Chair: OPEN Rotate shifts in the concession stand at BMS home games. The concession stand is open from approximately 4:30-7:00pm. We are typically open during Volleyball and Basketball seasons and host about 5 home games each.
Chair: OPEN Plan field events & activities for this fun-filled day for 6th and 7th Grade students on the last day of school. (8th Graders participate in the Walk-out instead.)
Chair: Angie G. Advertise volunteer opportunities as staff needs arise and help fill the slots from our dedicated Volunteer Pool. Staff can request volunteer assistance via a Google Form. Depending on the task, some may be done from home or the school, and even on flexible hours.
Spirit Nights & Food Trucks
Chair: Maile A. Boost school spirit by arranging spirit nights at local restaurants and businesses willing to give a percentage of the night’s profits back to BMS. Also arrange for food trucks or catering at select on-campus events throughout the year.
